Decide what fuel you are going to burn, gas, coal, logs, or just decorative. Choose the interior accordingly. Make sure your flue is usable and safe for its intended use.

We supply a whole range of spares to enable original cast iron Victorian and Edwardian tiled fireplaces to be restored to working order.

Replica cast iron fire fronts, bars, grates and ash pans supplied for any type of cast iron fireplace.

Choose a specially made hearth according to the type of appliance and fuel chosen.
For Gas fires: slate, marble, tiled, or stone, are acceptable.
For Coal or Logs: Always have heat plates installed, and the rest of the hearth, cut and seamed to allow for expansion.

Never light a real fire on stone, marble, slate or tiles. These materials are prone to explode with heat, and may shower the area with dangerously hot particles.

For peace of mind, we supply various models of easily installed robust fire guards and screens. We have a choice of "made to measure" or "off the peg" models.

Decide if any extra items are needed to complete the design or package you have chosen. eg: A fireplace hearth fitted flush with the floor will require a fender before it can be legally commissioned.

We refurbish and restore antique and traditional burners and grates.

If you purchase an reclaimed fireplace from a reclamation yard, make sure you get a receipt stating it is fit for its intended purpose.

We manufacture and supply all spare parts to restore period and antique fireplaces, but the process is involved and expensive. So take care when purchasing.

The choice of fuel you want to burn, is likely to be determined by the type and condition of your chimney flue.

This should be tested and certified by a qualified expert.

(It will be a legal requirement from 2006 to produce these certificates when you want to sell your house).

We can supply a made to measure gas fire for any shape or form of traditional or contemporary fireplace. A full CORGI fitting service is also available.

We are happy to carry out a full site inspection and survey report, prior to you purchasing and installing a new fireplace.

We also provide a full restoration and spares service for period and antique fireplaces and chimney pieces.

Be Aware!

Incomplete reclaimed antique fireplaces are a potential danger if refitted by inexperienced builders or DIYers.

Building Regulations require fittings to be carried out by fully registered and approved installers.
